What do I need for an indoor hydroponics system?

Ron,

I'm setting up an indoor hydroponics system and wanted to know how to manually cross pollinate tomato or other plants since the bees can't do their job indoors? Also, do you need to grow male/female plants for this?

Thanks Tim

Is the DipStick pen a trade name or a generic term for that type of meter? What is the name of the company that manufactures it? I am getting ready to put my unit together. The only thing left is to buy meters. Any help is welcome.

Ron- clones. I am having trouble rooting my clippings. Rather than me rattle on about how I think I've done everything correctly, could you give me (and others) some tips. How do you root your clones and how long does it take? thanx- R

I want to grow blackberries with hydroponics and controlled lighting to increase the harvest season. Is this being done anywhere else? How can I get reliable advise on the system I should build and the nutient solution? gasmike2@aol.com

In the 9 plant garden, how long of pvc pipes do you use for both sides of the overflow pipe? Is it the same measurement as the 11 plant?

That depends on how your cup sits in the 2-liter bottle. Take a guess but don't glue it and if the water rises to high then cut a little off till you get the desired water height. Every garden I build might be a little different so I eyeball the each one and cut it the right height.

Ron, Have you heard of a product the will move the light rays from one area to another? What I want to do is have the light in one room and the plants in another. I have a problem with heat. When have 30 - 1500 watt bulbs running and the room gets rather warm. I am trying to find a way maybe with fiber optics or a light pump to transfer adaquate light into the plant room. Place, power and money are not the problem. Heat is. We have a 2500 sqft underground bunker we are using beside a stream that we have used to generate powerwith. Have you heard of any body pumping light from one room to another. CJ
