Plants respond to this more than the LED. Emits heat from the porcelain both light and heat work well in a grow box helps keep temp at 80 degrees F. Light works best within 5- 11" from plants and close to the soil. This light produces grow results in short time span. This was my experience. I would buy it again. I was surprised that cfl's work better than LED. LED burned leaves but left soil stay wet. CFL helped dry soil and unless touching leaves will not burn them.
