This a great starter book for someone fresh off the boat. I first started off with this book and still have mine today. I added George Cervantes's book to my Arsenal as well, which is pretty much a clone of "Gardening Indoors; the Indoor Gardener's Bible" read our review on that if you like. We usually give this away to our Customers who purchase an X.XX dollar amount, especially if it looks as if they have NO Clue. For those just wishing to get some cheap info it's a bargain at only $5.95. Brushes on the basics that you will utilize in everyday application, for more in depth information save up a bit more to fork out on "Gardening Indoors; the Indoor Gardener's Bible" which goes into more depth on the same subjects. George F. Van Patten's book Hydroponic Basics is a great starter book for anyone looking to get into hydroponic growing. With its small size it's also optimal for a pocket sized hydroponic reference guide. The book is full of great illustrations that really bring meaning to the sometime confusing growing style. Van Patten really breaks down the science of hydroponics so that the everyday average Joe can enjoy the fun of growing indoors. Van Patten covers everything from lighting, humidity, nutrients, air movement, CO2 regulation, temperature, cuttings, and everything else you will need to know to get moving in the world of Hydroponics. I highly recommend this book and if you are looking for further reading check out "Gardening Indoors", "Gardening Indoors with CO2", "Gardening Indoors ... George F.
