HI,This is a 2 part mix to make 8 ounces (236ml) of 3.4mM strength STS (Silver Thiosulfate). That\'s .4mM stronger than recommended by the American Society for Horticultural Sciences- search: \"Foliar Sprays of Silver Thiosulfate Produce Male Flowers on Female Hemp Plants\"
This is made from very high quality, Reagent Grade, Sodium Thiosulfate Anhydrous, Silver Nitrate, and only distilled water.It can be stored in the separate containers, until you are ready to use.Once they are mixed, the solution should be used within 30 days.It usually takes approximately 21 days to start getting pollen.
I like to spray every 3 to 5 days, but once a week has never failed me either.
I normally use 1 ounce in a dropper bottle to turn 2 branches, and still have about 1/4 of that left over.So I would say enough to do at least 16 to 25 branches.
Caution: Be sure to isolate your plant when spraying. This will cause plants to hermy if accidentally sprayed even once!
I\'ve had accidental oversprays that turned branches from 1 single accident, so isolate your plant before spraying!
What you will need:
200ml of distilled, or pure RO water (No tap, or well water), and a brand new, or perfectly clean spray bottle, or you can apply with a paint brush.Caution: Old STS spray bottles probably have oxidized silver contaminants from the old batches that may cause the new batch to go bad soon.I clean mine real good, and have been reusing them for at least a year, but I don\'t recommend it at all. Do at own risk.
What is included:Part A (Silver Nitrate)- This blocks the production of ethylene necessary to make female flowers.Part B (Sodium Thiosulfate)- This is the carrier that enables the silver to penetrate well into the plant.Now includes 1 dose of OPTIONAL Gibberellic Acid (GA3) to stretch the male flowers out away from each other, keeping the pollen dryer, and making it easier for the flowers to open up.
Also included is a booklet of instructions for timing, and the spray schedule for both Photoperiods, and Autoflowers.Also tips for stubborn plants, and pollen collection and storage.
TheSTS solutionscontain:
8mlof 10mM Silver Nitrate solution, and
32mlof 10mM Sodium Thiosulfate Anhydrous solution.
Whencombined this makes 40ml of concentrated Silver Thiosulfatesolution of 20mM.
Thisneeds to be diluted down to around3mM.
I’vetested 1, 3, 5, 10, and 20mM solutions, and this is my favorite,which gets 100% success without burning the developing male flowerpods.
