This was my first time using this product. So I did a side by side comparison growing microgreens. One tray with organic soil the other with Organic Coco Coir. Same seeds, planted at the same time, same conditions, the difference was outstanding. The tray with Coir germinated faster, grew faster, and yielded better microgreens than soil. I'm sold.

Coconut coir is a good product. But the price was not. The volume on the package states 3 cubic feet, but the volume was more like 1.5 to 2 cubic feet once the water was added. When compared to peat moss it was noticeably less in volume. I bought 2 of these bricks (4 cubic feet at best) at a total of 40 with shipping and handling and could have bought almost 4 bags of peat moss (12 actual cubic feet).

This is probably the cleanest coco coir I've ever purchased and I've bought a lot. I usually come across clumps of long strands of coconut fibers in the rehydrated coir. Not this one. There were a few strands, but they were short. I'm sold on this brand.

We got this to act as a dry/coating medium in a "composting" (urine diverting) toilet for an RV. The material is - what it is - coconut coir & it seems pure, of uniform consistency & expands nicely during prep (moistening & fragmentation) for use as a "solids" medium in our toilet.
