I'm only 21 and a junior in college, but my advisor recommended this book to my class so i decided to give it a shot since i haven't really started investing yet since i'm still in college. David Bach makes financial planning VERY easy and all it takes is a simple plan to AUTOMATICALLY set aside a portion of your paycheck every time you get paid. I would highly recommend this book b/c it's gotten me motivated to not just get excited about investment opportunities and where the future can lead, but to also TAKE ACTION. He also has several other books, but this is probably the best one to start off with. As David Bach emphasizes, it doesn't matter how much you make, but rather how smart you are about how you invest in order to be rich when you retire.
This is a great book that insists on real life application. Bach writes very clearly and makes financial improvement a hands-on experience with easy-read chapters on automating good decisions. I did argue with some of his points (ex. Homeownership a Must regardless of circumstance and Throwing out budgeting altogether), but overall he has excellent advice to offer. Lastly, you may notice his repetition of themes, but since reading the book, the things he taught have stuck with me DUE TO the repetition in his book.
Looking for straight forward advice and easy read? Well look no further this book is amazing and simple with powerful principles if you follow them will improve your financial status 100 fold.
