It is so nice to hear what REALLY went on during the Bush years. The lame stream media so painted the Bush Administration and the President in false and bias light. Since Karl was there and could give insight into what he specifically had knowledge of. It was refreshing to hear his version done humbly and without malice towards those who would try to continually try to report misinformation, or out and out lie. In presenting his side of a situation, he was kind even to those who were trying to damage him politically. Those who work the politics on the left in Washington can be really deliberate and mean. I appauld him on his informative and positive manner in a tough job. I bought this book for my dad's birthday and he has enjoyed so far what he's read!!! I look forward to reading it when he finishes!!! Great history lessons to pass on to future generations!!! I believe you'll enjoy reading this book. It will answer and/or explain many situations that happened behind doors, out of the public eye. The general public has their own opinions on a limited amount of information. To read why things happened as they happened by an eye witness will only help explain the unknown.
I'm a conservative and I've always respected Karl Rove. The view he provides in his early years and finally the "architect" of George W Bush's campaign is very enlightening and entertaining. He's very down to earth and tries to explain some of the "Rove ethics". Good read.
I heard Fox news talking about this book and was curious. I think the news hammered President Bush so much that the truth about many things never was reported. I also respect Karl Rove as an intelligent in touch person. I wanted to get his side of the Bush campaign and presidency. So far I am enjoying the book. If you doubt the accuracy of the press and want another view I recommend this book.
I saw the interview with Karl Rove on c-span book show. He spoke about 9-11. I had to get the book. Then, I read the chapter about 9-11. I felt it all again. I could feel his anguish, loved the book, nice pictures, brought back memories of my own father. julie
