Saga of the All American - 82nd Airborne Div Assoc.- W.Forrest Dawson 1946:
$100.00

Rare first edition of W. Forrest Dawson\'s \"Saga of the All Americans\". Published in 1946, the 380 page book chronicles the history of the US 82nd Airborne from WW 1 through WW 2. Completely full of B/W pictures from major battles to personal memoirs of the soldiers and officers at the time.
All the significant battles are described in detail and include maps of the regions and locales. The cover is embossed with pressed crossed rifles and the AA insignia.
This book is large: 9\" X 12 1/4\" by 1 1/2\" thick. Pages are not numbered so I\'m estimating the number.
Condition: The cover spine is pretty much as it appears in the picture - very rough condition. The pages are tight in their binding and none are loose. No tears, rips or folds that I can see. Some fading as expected due to age. Inside covers are in good shape; however, the front inside was glued by the publisher upside down.
Opportunity: This books feels like history. It\'s not the glossy print we see today. (kept smoke free in my family since 1946 - dad was in 82nd 325 Glider Infantry) NOTE: For the serious collector, I believe it would be worth the cost of restoration - the spine could be replaced - the front and back covers are in pretty good shape.
I will send USPS medium flat rate, insured to sale price. International buyers: I\'ll calculate the international rate and bill via PayPal the additional cost. In both cases there may be a nominal cost adjustment for my actual shipping cost.
