This is a wonderful Antique French Bulldog Pull Toy made of paper mache and dating Circa 1890\'sIt has glass brown eyes, and the original red collar and chain. On the bottom recessed under its pawsare the 4 wooden wheels for pulling along the floor.The hair around its neck is made of Badger Hair which represents the original straw collars worn bythe French Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were used to get badgers our of holes and the straw collar would prevent them from getting stuck trying to get in the hole.Great original condition, all parts working well. Minor wearWhen pulling on the chain it does make a loud Growling sound. I have had some fun showing this Bulldog to otherpeople and I would have him in my arms. They would go to pet him and I would pull the chain. They would alwaysjump back and we all had a good laugh.This great Bulldog is life size and measures 15 1/2\' high and is 17\" long.This Toy Bulldog is subject to prior sale.
