This oak shadowbox (being offered as is) has a decoratedglass front with the words “Blessed Be Thy Holy Name” behind which is encloseda statue of Mary & Jesus I think are ceramic, but since it does not openthere is no way to know for sure. The hinged cover on the bottom compartmenthas a picture of the “The Last Supper”, it is backed by a card that reads“Viaticum” when in the open position, and there is a chain on one side & acatch on top to keep the compartment closed.

There are two metal angel brackets, one on each side, to holdthe small candle holders (included). Inside is a glass bottle with the words“Holy Water Keep Constantly Filled” on one side & a cross embossed on theother. The water in it was already there so I will leave it (wouldn’t dareremove it). There is a metal spoon that also has a cross on the handle. Alsoinside is a small (4 7/8” diameter) metal communion plate, looks like it might bechrome, engraved in the center with “ihs”. Both spoon & plate show surfacewear & scratches. The two white candles came with the cabinet so they willstay.

The cabinet is in very good condition for its age &measures 22 ¾”x13”x3 3/8” & has a wire on the back for hanging. The papercovering the back is very aged & torn in places.

I have included two small items as extras. A small 2 ½”x3 ¾”antique wood frame “Florence” plus a two sided crystal chain with a crucifixstyle cross enclosed by oval glass that magnifies the cross, it also appears tobe quite old. Understand that these two items were not originally with theshadowbox, I just added them as extras.
