Modifications / General Information:
- Standard 960’s came from the factory as a row crop tricycle. A wide from end was available as an option (ours is equipped with the wide front end).
- The hood emblem is a aftermarket replica – I hand painted it blue and gold to match the tractor
- The tractor has been painted blue, looking much like a 63-64 Ford 4000, it was originally red
- The front loader is a Ford factory option / accessory – often referred to as a one arm bandit loader
- On 12/17/11 Repairs to a blown head gasket by a Ford Tractor Historian revealed that the engine has a .20 over piston kit in it. This was most likely a direct Ford Dealer repair or Warranty Claim as only Ford direct offered the .20 over kit. The typical kit available to anyone other than Ford was a .30 over piston kit. This installed over bore kit give the tractor a bit more HP. According to the repair expert this overbore kit installation was clearly performed to the highest Standards.
- The tractor came from Ford as a 6 Volt – it has been updated to 12 Volt
- The tractor has Optional Power Steering – this is fairly rare for a 1957
- The Carburetor is original to the tractor: Marvel Schebler Model 10B2 8G
- Grader Blade: Burch Plow Works Inc. s/n 93479 Manufactured by True Blue Implements in Evansville, IN
- Engine Oil: 6 Quarts 30W – Gear Oil: 90W (Gearbox and Rear End) Universal Hydraulic Fluid (Center)
- Oil Bath Filter takes 30W motor Oil
- 1 Drop 30W Oil in Distributor
- Oil Filter Select: Fram PH7, Motorcraft FL4 or AC PF6
- Spark Plugs: First Choice Champion H12 or Autolites 437
- Experts Say working the 3-Point in Draft Control Position will ONLY work plowing very flat fields.
* Have Tire Chains, One Arm Bandit Front Loader (missing one small mounting bracket), Box Grader and Blade - see photographs (all items included with the tractor purchase).
