1923 Eureka Sport 23 Pedal Car Voiture Pedale Tretauto Amilcar:
$11675.00

This 1923 Eureka Sport 23 pedal car, voiture apedale, tretauto, Amilcar, is in restored condition. Eureka started to make pedal cars in 1922. The 1st model car, an Eureka Sport 22, are never seen, roughly 500 of those cars were made. This 2rdyear model pedal car, the Sport 23 was made for 3 years (1923-25). It was an expensive and unique pedal car. At the time, only military and or elite people would be able to afford to buy one. The drive mechanics on these early cars, were a ratchet gear type of drive system. Spring pressure would hold the 2 gears together on each side of the rear axle, allowing the car to move forward, when you moved the pedal rods. When you pull back on the brake level, a little bit, it would separate the gears and allow the car to free wheel down the hills. When you pulled the brake level all the way back, it would engage rear brake and stop the pedal car.Look at the pictures, this car has front and back spring suspensions, the cushionedseat is adjustable, the hood or bonnet can be removed to install batteries in the wooden battery box. The headlights (working) are turned on, by a lever in the middle of the steering wheel. There are only ahandful of examples, of this pedal car around the world. Finding a complete and working model car is extremelyrare. Most of the drive mechanics on these cars were made of white metal (or as we call it pot metal). Over time this white metal dries out and literately falls off or freezes to theattaching part.Oversea\'s buyers, NOTE:Shipping cost is added to the purchase price of the pedal car, when your country adds their VAT Tax, Duty Tax and or Brokerage Fee\'s.
