not 16mm. Bigger disc = Bigger output! The discs are ceramic and coated in Teflon that is ideal for use in water with a high solids count.
The lightweight ceramic discs allows for faster vibration, allowing for more fog production, and the Teflon coating provides superior protection against buildup.

How does it work?
Ultrasonic MistMakersmake a very fine/dry, sub 5-micron fog, by creating ultrasonic vibrations that atomize just about any fluid that you put it in. The less viscous, or lighter weight the fluid, the more mist that will be produced.
The fogger creates a small boil on the water\'s surface that releases the \"fog\". It is VERY quiet compared to most humidifiers. To operate, just set the transducer in the supplied float,
place it in your water container and plug it in. Voila! The unit will automatically shut itself down after the water level becomes too low.

What sizes do you carry?
Mist maker sizes are determined by the number of white discs, or \"heads\". The House of Hydro carries 1, 3, 5, 6 , 12, and our high output 12XL mist maker. We also have a line of fully encased waterproof fans. Hydro-Flo Pro waterproof fans are the most dependable waterproof fans money can buy. They are full submersable and come with a one year, no questions asked warranty.

We typically ship within 1-2 business days, via 2-3 day priority mail! Units with the Tuff Coat anti-corrosion coating may take a day or two longer to process.
The large black float ships separately to help save you money on shipping costs.
For international shipments, the mist maker is shipped via priority mail, and the floats are shipped viaFirst Class mail. They usually arrive at the same time. Shipping them via priority mail would make shipping costsfar too high.
