Hi, I am looking at building the 11 plant hydroponics garden. I would to know what is being used for the bottle on the top of the system to place your plant in, also what kind of vegetables grow well in this kind of system?

Thank You newbie

I'm want to build a aero-hydroponics system like the one made from round PVC piping is there anyone who can tell me where to get directions or has them to give me I'm figuring about 5 pipes wide and 6 feet long give or take. Please email me if you can help. drastik69@hotmail.com. I just think you can make something as good or better than the aeroflo unit by yourself with a little advice.

how do I test my water supply for hardness?

I would check with a local water company to see if  hard water is a problem in your area and if it is then you might want to consider a water softener system.

Has anyone ever made there own evaporative cooler. I'm getting geared up for Summer time as last year I could handle the heat inside the "hothouse"!!!

I like the coolair.com site 8"PVC pipe & pads.

Anyone have any pictures for referencing. tnx.

I built my own with 1/2" pvc pipe with holes drilled every inch that drip water through a horse hair pad. Swamp cooler.

Re: Nurti-Sol

Just go to Home Depot and buy a bag of Scotts or Schultzs 20-20-20. Add about 1 teaspoon Calcium Nitrate per gallon of solution and about 1 tablespoon of Epson Salts (Magnesiun Sulfate) per 10 gallons of solution. The Epson salts help the plant absorb the Calcium.

what is a growing medium?????

Grow rocks, perlite, rockwool, sand, air, or any inert material free form harmful chemicals that could be harmful to the plants. You add the nutrients to the medium for your plants to use. Your plants don't get their nutrients from the medium.

Hi, I am asking for a comparison between water requirement in hydroponically culture and soil culture. I want to find how much water will be saved in NFT or Ebb and flow systems (for tomato or cucumber for example) if I change my soil system to hydroponically system.

Thank you and best regards. Hamid

Keep on asking.
