What makes a hydroponics tomato different?

Books?

Would anyone recommend one or both of these books?

Hydroponics Tomato Production by Jack Ross

or

Hydroponics Tomatoes for the Home Gardener by Howard M. Resh

I am doing a reaserch on it and I want to Know what minerals are in the water. how new is this way of growing. how much does a bigone cost(the type they use to sellfood).

Hi How do I find out what size pots to use and on hydrorons 11 plant garden does the size of the container matter?

Ron,

Could you please explain the relationship between a fertilizer which has N-P-K expressed in percent (ex. 10-10-10) and PPM,can the pecentage be converted to PPM.

Further is the correct conversion from milliSiemens(mMhos/cm) to PPM. 1 PPM = 6.5 mMhos.

Thanks for your time

Rick

I made my VERY FIRST hydroponic garden yesterday thanks to this website! It's a very basic gurgle garden but it works great. I'm using perlite now but would like to try grow rocks. I'm using organic nutrients from MetaNaturals: http://bella-via.com/

Grow Rocks: Where can I buy them the cheapest? Are there any online sources?

FireCloud

Try to find them as close to you as possible because the shipping will hurt.

I would love a couple marketing tips on how to market a new hydroponic retail store

Ron, you have a mighty fine hydroponics site. Could you add a "Return to Top" at the bottom of each page"?

I'll put it on my list of things to do this year.

Somebody commented on the bulletin board about his tomato plants going yellow with brown spots. This sounds awfully alot like tomato blight to me. Spray all of your good plants with a chemical called copper oxychlorate, or a mixture of a few spoons of copper sulphate, and a spoon of sodium tetraborate (sp?) sold in supermarkets as Borax. Spray this mix LIGHTLY onto the plants, and run water through your nutrient solution a few times to get rid of the traces. Burn all infected plants. Michael <mstrates@croftj.net>

bloom formula

RON, I have a dilemma. I have a 55 Gal. barrel buried in the ground for the nutrient solution. The average temp here is 85-90 F. Would using an air stone in ambient air raise the solution temp to the ambient air temp? Would it make a difference?

No different unless you put the air pump inside a refrigerator.
